Articles of Faith

  • That God is a person existing in a trinity in unity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit ~ three persons yet one God.

  • That the Bible is the verbally inspired word of God.  That it is therefore without error and is the final and all sufficient authority in all things.

  • That man was created in the image and likeness of God, as recorded in the Book of Genesis, but that he fell into sin.  As a consequence of this fall all men are lost and need to be Born Again.

  • That Jesus Christ was sent of God in the likeness of sinful flesh, and was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and died a sacrificial death on the cross for the sin of the entire world.  That he is coming again, premillennial, personal and visible.

  • That salvation is wholly by grace through faith in Christ, who bore our sins in His own body on the tree, and without Him, no salvation.

  • That those who believe on Him are freely justified, adopted into the family of God, bestowed with eternal life, and will be rewarded in Heaven on the grounds of their faithful service.

  • That unbelievers are already condemned and will be judged by Christ and cast into an endless hell unless they repent of their sins and receive Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour.

  • That there shall be a resurrection both of the just and the unjust, but each in his own order.  They that have done good will come forth unto a resurrection of life, and they that have done evil into a resurrection of damnation.

  • The two ordinances of the church are:

    1. Baptism:  This church shall teach and practice baptism by immersion.  To show forth in solemn and beautiful symbol our faith in and union with Christ as the crucified, buried, and arisen Saviour.  This being the only mode of baptism practiced by this church

    2. Communion:  Communion is observed in remembrance of Christ - showing forth His death till He comes.  The bread is given in remembrance of His body which was broken.  The grape juice is given in remembrance of the blood which was shed for the sins of mankind.

  • That Sanctification is a work of the Holy Spirit through believing in the Word.  This results in growth in grace.

  • The Church is the Body of Christ of which He is the Head.

  • The Devil is the arch-enemy of God and man, the instigator of sin and death.  That he was defeated at the Cross and will be cast into Hell.

  • That as a local assembly of Christians, the government resides in the congregation, in its membership and NOT in any special body or order of men within or without.  That it is a spiritual democracy wherein each soul has equal access to God and voice in affairs of the church.  A majority of the members constitute the determining action of the church.
